MACS along with James Ebel, Supervisor for Rec Therapy hosted a a two-day mini-Camp for Adaptive Pickleball & Racquetball held at Lake Lytal Park in support of the VA Medical Center West Palm Beach. The six-week pickleball clinic starting August 19th.

Thanks to Glen Thompson, Nysheik Cutno of the New Orleans VAMC Recreation Therapy department, Patricia Barney (Pickleball Ambassador of New Orleans), Gabriel George for helping us at MACS - Military Adaptive Court Sports graduate another Veteran Pickleball class this past weekend (June 11).
9 new Veterans graduated from our 6-week pickleball program.

With the New Family in Salisbury NC working with the Salisbury VA Medical Center and the Veteran community kicking off a six-week pickleball program in collaboration with the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center.r for local veterans. Mayor Karen Alexander came out to lead her support.

After next week, there will be a 2-week break and then another new clinic begins again on Tuesday, June 1st.

DINKS 4 VETS Method Park NC Fundraising Tournament

This past wknd (April 24th & 25th) we had an amazing event. With my Ex. Team (Leslie Robinson, Eric Zeigler, Gary Stewart, James Hester, and Cory Goodman) Raleigh DEPT of Park Recreation, Milbrook HS JROTC Unit, VFW Post 7383 and CORE pickleball (Cliff Chu) - we hosted a fundraising pickleball tournament resulting in over $6,500 in donations and contributions! THANK You to all the players who came out for this event

Wounded Warrior Project Clinic today at the Plaza. Thanks to my awesome sponsor, Onix Pickleball, all the Vets received a free paddle . Also , thanks to the Plaza for providing the courts and the Gia Wellness group for providing the volunteers. Thanks to Earl Stitt for helping all the Vets in Vegas. It all came together with a bunch of fun and a little learning.

A two-day interactive Pickleball demonstration was held December 17th & 18th at Ralph H. Johnson VAMC, Community Resource & Referral Center - CRRC, Charleston SC. With support from the Mayors office (Honorable R. Keith Summey) pickleball was introduced to a solid group of vets wanting to learn the game. The 6-week program is slated to begin in February. MRF ProAm Doubles at the 3 WallBall World Pro Championships
The MRF would like to express their gratitude to the players who stepped up and donated to the event and to the pros who volunteered to be their partners. The evening was fun and filled with friendly competition. Mike Blackney and Jose Diaz emerged as the 2020 ProAm Doubles Champions defeating Steven Harper and Adam Manilla in the final match of the evening. We would also like to thank Mike Coulter and 3 WallBall for once again inviting the MRF to be a part of this great event.
